OASC ALUM RECEIVES HONOR
SGT. TIM SVENSON PROMOTED TO OPERATIONS CAPTAIN
Sheriff Crabtree announces Sgt. Tim Svenson has been selected as the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office Operations Captain.
Svenson began his law enforcement career as YCINT Intern in 1999. Once completing his Bachelor’s Degree at Western Oregon University in 2000, he applied and was selected as a Deputy Sheriff for the Patrol Division. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2004 and selected to fill a retirement vacancy as a Jail Sergeant in 2010, then returning to Patrol in 2011. In addition to his degree, Tim has achieved Corrections Supervisory Certification, Police Management Certification and over 1500 hours of certified training.
Sheriff Crabtree stated, “Over the years, Svenson has provided strong leadership both within the Sheriff’s Office and out in our community. He is a member of the McMinnville Kiwanis Club and Co-Director of Oregon Associations of Student Councils Leadership Camp. Proven commitment to leadership and service will be strong assets to our Operational Team and Yamhill County citizens.”
In his new position, Captain Tim Svenson will be responsible for the operations of Patrol, Community Response Team, Yamhill County Interagency Narcotics Team “YCINT”, Marine, Dog Control and other operational responsibilities.
